What this is

A month offree programming.

Search Party is produced by Understory in collaboration with WauMaus and Wind Up, Go! Together with CARTA and a myriad of talented artists, dancers, and performers, we’re transforming the rooftop of Shuttle Park North into an open-air destination featuring large-scale installations, an immersive dance performance, and a month of free programming, including concerts, lectures, art and dance classes, dance parties, and more.

The Call is the ticketed opening weekend. After that, the programming is free.

It started with
a question.

Where do you
feel connected?

Everything on the roof
is an answer.

UnderstoryUnderstory is a placemaking studio working at the intersection of research, art, and lived experience. Search Party grew out of a question the University of Tennessee’s anthropology department asked Chattanooga: how does it move, and where does it feel connected?

Projects and exhibits

Wind Up, Go!Wind Up. Go! (W^GO!) helps turn big ideas into projects that actually get done, and have a little fun along the way.

More

From planning and managing projects to designing and building eye-catching exhibits and installations, we bring creative thinking and practical know-how to everything from museums and events to trade shows and beyond. We also help clients find the right words, creating everything from exhibit copy to marketing content that brings their ideas, stories, and brands to life.

Artistic collective

WauMausWauMaus, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, believes in the transformative power of the arts to connect people, shift perspectives, and ignite meaningful change. Our work is rooted in a vision of community and shared experience, where every performance becomes a catalyst for connection and every project an opportunity to celebrate the limitless potential of human expression. WauMaus is more than an artistic collective. It is a movement toward a more inspired and imaginative world.

More

WauMaus was created to highlight the artistic spark of Chattanooga through unique and quirky exhibitions, performances, events, and installations. You never know where WauMaus might pop up next. Maybe on the river? In the wild? Lurking in a dark alley? Who knows?
